Esta tarde, a las cinco y treinta, se ha veriflcado con gran solemnidad la distribución de los
premios Nobel.De mano del rey han recibido los siguientes agraciados el premio, diploma y medalla de oro:M. Moissan, de Paris, premio de química.Thomson, de Cambridge, premio de física.Golgi, de Pavía, y Ramón Cajal, de Madrid, premio de medicina. El Sr. Carducci, de Boloña, ausente, premio de literatura, estaba representado por el encargado de Negocios de Italia, Sr. Caprera. El valor de cada premio asciende este año a 191.480 francos.

Hoy, durante la distribución solemne de premios Nobel, el rey ha entregado personalmente
a Ramón y Cajal un premio, consistente en una medalla de oro, con su correspondiente diploma,en recompensa de los trabajos sobre el sistema nervioso, efectuados por el sabio doctor.—

CAJAL EN ESTOCOLMO

Los periódicos de Estocolmo relatan extensamente el recibimiento hecho al sabio español Sr. Ramón y Cajal en aquella población.
Llegó el sábado por la mañana en el mismo tren que el químico francés M. Moissan, también premiado.
Esperábanles en la estación el insigne profesor sueco Rezins, numerosos ilustres representantes de sociedades científicas y público muy distinguido.
Los periódicos suecos publican retratos y encomiásticas semblanzas del glorioso español.
Un redactor del "Stockolms Dagllad" habló con Cajal el domingo y le pidió impresiones de su llegada a Estocolomo.
Cajal, muy amable, le dijo:
—Es la vez primera que visito esta capital y todavía no he podido formar idea de ella. He notado que hace aquí menos frío que en algunas regiones españolas.
«Tengo amistad, aunque epistolar, con ilustres suecos, como Momer, Henschens y Hohngrens y conozco personsalmente á Rezins desde que estuvo en asambleas científicas de España.
Rezins me ha colmado de amabilidades desde mi llegada, y me ha acompañado a la Academia de Ciencias y a la Escuela de Medicina, donde he recibido cariñosos obsequios.
»En España, dijo luego Cajal, se conoce poco la literatura sueca, de la cual no tenemos buenas traducciones. Únicamente conocemos allí los dramas de Ibsen. Pero sé que en Suecia se conoce bien la literatura española y, especialmente, las obras dramáticas de Echegaray, admirablemente traducidas. «En las pocas horas que llevo aquí he notado que algunos suecos hablan nuestro idioma.»
Cajal terminó dando al periodista detalles de su vida científica que aquél solicitaba.

La distribución de premios

Ayer a las cinco de la tarde se verificó solemnemente la distribución de los premios Nobel en el Storthing, reunido para ello en sesión extraordinaria bajo la presidencia del rey.
El ministro de Negocios extranjeros y el presidente de la Cámara pronunciaron breves discursos saludando en nombre de Suecia a los sabios extranjeros premiados y ensalzándoles calurosamente.
Acto seguido el rey entregó a cada uno una medalla de oro y un diploma, que aparte de la cantidad de 191.480 francos constituyen cada premio.
Cajal, de Madrid; Moissan, de París; Thomson, de Cambridge; Golgi, de Pavía; Carducí, de Boloña, y Roosevelt, recibieron sus premios correspondientes. Los dos últimos estaban representados, respectivamente, por el encargado de Negocios
italiano, Sr. Caprera, y el ministro de los Estados Unidos.
A todos dirigió el monarca sueco frases de alta estimación.
